I am delighted to help nurture our third graders here a Kid Street this year! In  our class we will work to  cultivate a sense of community through a STEAM-oriented curriculum, involving hands-on projects with a strong emphasis on the "Makers" approach. In addition, we will prioritize developing reading and writing skills through purposeful instruction as well as integrating them across all subjects. Throughout the year, we will also devote attention to cursive handwriting and typing skills to give students the 21st century skills needed to communicate. In addition, we will delve into the fascinating realms of diversity and cultures both globally and within our own classroom, while also tackling more advanced mathematical concepts such as multiplication, division,  and fractions.

 

Moreover, we will incorporate social-emotional practices from the Toolbox Project  and Fly Five from Responsive classroom into our daily routines. Students will practice logical skills and collect them as "tools" to help them through our daily struggles.
