Welcome to Third Grade at Kid Street Charter SchooI! Here, students will strive to cultivate a sense of community through a STEAM-oriented curriculum, involving hands-on projects with a strong emphasis on the "Makers" approach.

 

I will prioritize literacy skills through purposeful instruction across all subjects using the Orton Gilligham approach which specifically targets student with dyslexia. This approach along with literature studies will hopefully create blossoming bookworms in third grade!

Throughout the year, we will delve into the fascinating history or Santa Rosa and our local community and economy.  We will also prepare for our first year of state testing by tackling more advanced mathematical concepts such as mutiplication, division, fractions, telling time and measurement skills.

 

Lastly, we will incorporate social-emotional practices from the Toolbox Project  and Fly Five from Responsive classroom into our daily routines. Students will practice rational skills and collect them as "tools" to help them through our daily struggles.
