Attention All You Scratch Golfers!
Dear Fantastic Friends of the Kid Street Million Dollar Challenge Golf Tournament,
Happy New Year and here is to the best year ever on and off the golf course!! Christina here, your super excited Golf Committee Coordinator, announcing the return of the Kid Street Million Dollar Challenge Golf Tournament on Friday June 27, 2008 at Windsor Golf Club. The Kid Street Board of Directors and I humbly request your presence as committee members, sponsors, golfers, and of course all you comedians out there, to help us reach our goal this year of $1,000,000.
Kid Street is an amazing Charter School and After-School Program designed to educate and nurture children who have been emotionally, physically and psychologically abused. These children (K through 6th), are thriving both academically and spiritually and they prove this by having some of the top Star Test scores in Santa Rosa. As Linda Conklin likes to say, Teach to the Heart and the Mind will follow!
As a non-profit Charter School, we cannot create this magic alone. This is where all of you come in. I’m enclosing an information packet about the tournament, hole sponsorship and event sponsorship. Our goal is to garner $100,000. In sponsorship before anyone tee’s off. 40 sponsorships of $2,500 will make that happen, and we believe together with you, we can make $100,000 a reality. Will you help us reach our goal? Please call us (707) 525-9223 and give us your ideas and suggestions about how to make our goal a reality. We are asking our $10,000 sponsors to join us once again this year which means we are $20,000 on our way to $100,000.
We are looking forward to seeing you and all of our friends once again for an incredible day of fun and excitement. We have several new attractions for hole sponsors which should prove to be great fun…no, you’ll just have to wait…and of course Charlie’s Grill will do their usual magic with the scrumptious dinner in the beautiful outdoor setting. We are also in search of exciting auction items such as trips, overnights and dinner packages. If you have an auction item in mind give us a call, all suggestions are appreciated!
We invite you to visit Kid Street and see your money at work. Frank Pugh, Santa Rosa City School Board Member calls Kid Street Charter School, the best use of a charter he has ever seen. He goes on to say he believes Kid Street is what Gary Hart had in mind when developing the Charter School initiative. Come see for yourself as children who have been “invited out” of other schools thrive in our small class sizes, begin to believe in themselves, smile with gratitude and appreciation instead of attitude and contempt for the world around them.
Kid Street requires parents to volunteer weekly so they too can learn parenting skills, learn employment skills, get back into school themselves, find hope for drug and alcohol addiction and ultimately, become contributing members of our community.
Call me to get more information about how you can help or just sign up with the forms enclosed and help Don Codding, Bryan Schwab, Pat Edelman, Dave Jones-Landry, Joe Martin, John Larimer, Pete Magrini, Kay Allen, Nancy Martin and Kathy Grant provide a humane education for both the children and the parents of Kid Street Learning Center.
Thank you in advance for making this tournament a smash hit!
