Kid Street Learning Center, a non-profit charter
school for at-risk children, have met their state standard
goals for the past three years.
Announcing a special golf tournament for a special school.
The Kid Street Million Dollar Challenge hosted by the friends
of Kid Street and Committee Chairman Don Codding.
Modeled after The Human Race, the Kid Street Million Dollar
Challenge will host an exciting golf tourney to be scheduled
in late September of this year.
Volunteers with donation sign up sheets will accept pledges
at banks, wineries, offices, etc. across Sonoma County.
Here's the math. 18 holes of golf with two foursomes per hole.
That’s 144 golfers. Each has a donation goal of $7,000.
That totals $1,008,000.
This fund raising extravaganza will benefit the community
on several fronts.
- Kid Street is the best kept secret in Sonoma County.
If a golfer averages
$20 per donation it will take 350 donors to meet the $7,000
goal. The word will definitely get out about Kid Street.
- The tournament itself will be more of a celebration of
youth and hope
and inspiration. The holes will be full of donated surprises,
and special
musical guests.
- 3. This will be a highly visible and advertised event.
The people of
Sonoma County know that our schools are in trouble. This
fundraiser
will help galvinize the community; working together for
a common goal
to benefit our children.
The motto of Kid Street is, 'Teach to the heart and the mind
will follow'. Let's team with the hearts and minds of Sonoma
County to make the Kid Street Million Dollar Challenge a truly
unforgettable event.
